1. Introduction

Muslim Funeral Services Canada (MFSCA) respects your privacy.
We collect and use personal information only as needed to manage membership, provide our services, and meet legal requirements.

2. What personal information we collect

  • Religious and membership information: that you identify as Muslim and wish to be a member.
  • Payment details: bank account and transit number, void cheque or pre‑authorized debit information, and/or card number, expiry date, and security code if you pay by card.

We collect this information directly from you through our forms, documents you provide, or your communications with us.

3. Why we collect your information

We use your information to:

  • Check if you meet our membership rules (Muslim, 18 or older, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, living in Canada with valid status).
  • Create and manage your membership record.
  • Provide membership benefits and funeral‑related services.
  • Process membership fees, service charges, and contributions (including pre‑authorized debits and card payments).

We do not use your personal information for other purposes without your consent, unless required or allowed by law.

4. Identification documents and immigration status

To confirm you are eligible for membership, we may:

  • Ask to see government‑issued ID such as a Canadian passport, permanent resident (PR) card, or citizenship document.
  • Record limited details (for example, document type, number, and expiry date) or record only that your eligibility was verified on a certain date.

We collect and keep only what is reasonably needed to confirm your age, status (citizen or PR), and residence in Canada.
We do not collect more information from your documents than necessary.

 5. Banking and card information

If you choose to pay by pre‑authorized debit or card, we collect the information needed to process those payments, such as:

We do not sell or rent your banking or card information.

6. Consent

By applying for membership, using our services, or providing your information (including ID and payment details), you agree that we may collect, use, and share your personal information for the purposes described in this policy.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits and reasonable notice.
If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to process or maintain your membership or provide certain services.
