Muslim Funeral Services Canada (MFSCA) respects your

- Identity and eligibility details:
date of birth, immigration status (for example, Canadian citizen or
permanent resident), and limited details from government ID (such as type
of document and number).
- Religious and membership
information: that you identify as Muslim and wish to be a member.
- Payment details: bank account and
transit number, void cheque or pre‑authorized debit information, and/or
card number, expiry date, and security code if you pay by card.
We collect this information directly from you through our
forms, documents you provide, or your communications with us.
3. Why we collect your information
We use your information to:
- Check if you meet our membership
rules (Muslim, 18 or older, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, living
in Canada with valid status).
- Create and manage your membership
record.
- Provide membership benefits and
funeral‑related services.
- Process membership fees, service
charges, and contributions (including pre‑authorized debits and card
payments).
- Keep proper financial and
administrative records and meet legal, tax, and audit requirements.
We do not use your personal information for other purposes
without your consent, unless required or allowed by law.
4. Identification documents and immigration status
To confirm you are eligible for membership, we may:
- Ask to see government‑issued ID such
as a Canadian passport, permanent resident (PR) card, or citizenship
document.
- Record limited details (for example,
document type, number, and expiry date) or record only that your
eligibility was verified on a certain date.
We collect and keep only what is reasonably needed to
confirm your age, status (citizen or PR), and residence in Canada.
We do not collect more information from your documents than necessary.
5. Banking and card information
If you choose to pay by pre‑authorized debit or card, we
collect the information needed to process those payments, such as:
- Bank name, account number, and transit
number, or a void cheque or PAD form.
- Card number, expiry date, and
security code for credit or debit card payments.
We use this
information only to:
- Set up and process your authorized
payments.
- Deal with payment issues, refunds,
chargebacks, and our accounting and audits.
We do not sell or rent your banking or card information.
6. Consent
By applying for membership, using our services, or providing
your information (including ID and payment details), you agree that we may
collect, use, and share your personal information for the purposes described in
this policy.
You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal
or contractual limits and reasonable notice.
If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to process or maintain your
membership or provide certain services.
7. How we protect your information
We take reasonable physical, organizational, and technical
steps to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access,
use, or disclosure. These steps include:
- Limiting access to personal and
financial information to people who need it for their duties.
- Using locked storage for paper
records and secure systems with access controls for electronic records.
- Using trusted payment providers
where possible to handle card transactions.
8. How long we keep your information
We keep your personal information only as long as needed to:
- Administer your membership and our
services.
- Maintain required financial, tax,
and audit records.
- Meet legal and regulatory
requirements and resolve any disputes.
After this, we securely delete, destroy, or anonymize your
information in line with our retention rules.

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

- Service providers who help us with
administration, IT, payment processing, accounting, or auditing and who
must protect your information.
- Banks, card companies, and payment
processors to process your authorized payments.
- Authorities or others when we are
